About the role#
Signal Group is hiring an IT Help Desk Intern to join our team in Novi, Michigan. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional IT environment. You will work alongside our staff and receive training. This position is open to both full-time and part-time schedules. If you are a part-time intern who performs well, you may be considered for full-time employment after you finish your academic program.
What you'll do#
- Resolve help desk tickets assigned by the IT System Administrator and Director of IT.
- Help employees diagnose and fix technical issues.
- Escalate complex problems to senior IT staff.
- Keep assigned tickets updated and resolve them on time.
- Maintain IT equipment and software at supported levels.
- Document IT processes and manage the central document repository.
- Keep asset records accurate and report changes in IT assets to the team.
- Apply AI tools to IT issues and projects.
- Support special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an IT, computer science, or related program, or recent graduation from such a program.
- An industry certification, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Google IT Support, or current pursuit of these.
- A commitment to learning across all areas of technology.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to listen well.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay positive under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google applications, and Microsoft Edge.
- Basic knowledge of Windows networking is preferred.
- Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is located on-site in Novi, Michigan.
- The schedule is Monday through Friday during standard business hours.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours per day and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
