About the role#
Sherwood Companies is hiring a Construction Field Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This role focuses on the heavy highway construction industry. You will work under general supervision to complete tasks safely and efficiently. You must be able to travel between jobsites and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety policies and process requirements.
- Use hand tools and equipment to complete daily construction tasks.
- Maintain high standards for work quality.
- Keep the jobsite clean and organized.
- Move materials of various types and weights.
- Work as part of a team to complete assigned duties.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering program.
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
- Proficiency in mathematics.
- Physical capabilities including manual and finger dexterity, extent flexibility, and near vision.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, walk, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
