About the role#
Sentara Health is looking for an intern to join the team at Sentara Park. You will support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience working with leaders to improve efficiency, quality, and service delivery across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Assist with process analysis and workflow optimization.
- Collect and organize data to support improvement projects.
- Analyze information and present findings to the team.
- Contribute to projects that enhance healthcare operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate program.
- Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering is preferred.
- Active military service members pursuing a SkillBridge internship may also be considered.
- An interest in Lean methodologies, performance improvement, and operational excellence.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
- The position follows a rolling term schedule.
- Compensation is $19.70 per hour.
