Intern – Server Engineering and Operations Fall 2026

About the role#

This paid internship program provides project-based learning and real-world experience for rising sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate students. The program offers mentorship and professional development with the goal of identifying early talent for potential future roles at SECU. Interns will work in an office environment and gain exposure to the functions of an Associate IT Data Analyst.

What you'll do#

• Complete assigned project-based research and deliver a presentation to leadership at the end of the program.
• Perform data acquisition, preparation, cleaning, integration, and cataloging.
• Utilize Power BI for reporting, including Power Query, DAX, and visualizations.
• Use Python scripting and version control.
• Analyze and improve operational processes.
• Collaborate professionally with coworkers and departments across the organization.
• Handle administrative duties, such as mailings, imaging documents, and other clerical tasks.

What you'll need#

• Current full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university based in North Carolina.
• Major in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to commit to a 10-12 week program for at least 10 hours per week.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, CPT, or OPT.

• Location: North Carolina.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (maximum of 4 days per month in the office).
• Term: Fall 2026.
