Intern- Branch Fall 2026

About the role#

This paid internship program offers project-based learning and professional experience for students at the branch level. Interns will receive mentorship, cross-functional training, and the opportunity to develop professional skills within a financial cooperative. The program is designed to identify early talent for potential future roles at SECU.

What you'll do#

• Conduct project-based research and deliver a final presentation to leadership.
• Collaborate with branch coworkers and various departments to support project development.
• Learn about SECU products and services to provide recommendations to members.
• Perform administrative tasks, including greeting members, answering phones, and filing paperwork.
• Demonstrate high-quality customer service during member interactions.
• Gain exposure to branch services and daily operations.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled full-time as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate student at an accredited university or college based in North Carolina.
• A minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Commitment to a 10–12 week program, working at least 10 hours per week.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, CPT, or OPT.
• Preferred majors: Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Communications, or Marketing.

Location & details#

• This is an on-site role located in North Carolina.
• The work environment is an office setting involving prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and computer use.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 lbs.
