About the role#
Scotiabank is hiring a Summer Analyst to join the U.S. Central Compliance and U.S. Monitoring and Testing Compliance team. This role supports the oversight of core compliance infrastructure, governance, and regulatory obligations. You will work alongside subject matter experts to support key deliverables, analysis, and stakeholder communications to ensure regulatory expectations and business objectives are met.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teams within and outside Global Compliance on strategic initiatives.
- Support various areas of Global Compliance to fulfill its mandate.
- Mobilize, build, and implement capabilities for change and sustainability.
- Identify issues and formulate fact-based recommendations for improvement.
- Research enabling solutions and tools.
- Prepare and socialize presentation materials.
- Collect, ingest, and analyze data and documents to support decision-making.
- Apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture to daily activities and decisions.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- High integrity and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated approach to work.
