About the role#
This co-op position offers students practical experience within the Engine or Chassis departments. You will work on engineering projects aligned with current research and development initiatives, gaining exposure to manufacturing and technology development processes while working alongside professional engineers.
What you'll do#
- Support design tasks including calculations, simulations, and CAD modeling.
- Perform component or system level mechanical testing.
- Conduct component teardown analysis, which includes physical teardown, inspection photography, and documentation.
- Collaborate daily with the engineering team on innovative projects.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to complete assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA per semester.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- 3D CAD modeling experience is preferred.
- Participation in SAE collegiate competition teams or experience as a mechanical hobbyist is preferred.
