About the role#
The Human Frontier Collective Fellowship brings together domain experts to work on projects shaping the future of AI. You will apply your legal background to help design, evaluate, and interpret generative AI systems while working with an interdisciplinary network of researchers. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with an estimated duration of six months and potential for extension.
What you'll do#
- Engage in projects with partnered AI labs and platforms.
- Design complex real-world scenarios to test AI capabilities.
- Evaluate model outputs for accuracy and regulatory alignment.
- Provide feedback to improve performance in areas like compliance, litigation, case law, and contract analysis.
- Co-author technical reports and research papers with the research team.
What you'll need#
- A JD, LLM, or current enrollment in a 2L/3L program.
- Bar admission in any jurisdiction is strongly preferred.
- Professional experience as an Attorney, Legal Analyst, Counsel, Law Clerk, In-House Counsel, Legal Researcher, or Law Professor.
- Expertise in legal research, regulatory frameworks, constitutional law, case law interpretation, and drafting legal briefs.
- A detail-oriented, innovative mindset with a commitment to collaboration.
- A passion for financial technology.
- Prior experience with AI is a plus but not required.
Location & details#
- This role is fully remote within the United States.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
- This is a full-time, paid independent contractor position with a flexible schedule of 10 to 40 hours per week.
