About the role#
Saronic Technologies is seeking an IT Intern to support the tools and systems managed by IT Operations. This role provides hands-on experience in maintaining the infrastructure that supports a defense technology company. You will work directly with senior IT staff on complex projects and gain exposure to enterprise-level hardware, software, and network environments.
What you'll do#
- Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including software updates, security patches, and backups.
- Document and track support tickets using a helpdesk management system.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on complex technical projects, migrations, and system upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to security best practices, including data protection and access control.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with helpdesk or ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk) is a plus.
- Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Note: This role requires "U.S. Person" status as defined by U.S. law for access to export-controlled information.

- Location: Austin, Texas (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (August through December).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid internship.
