Information Technology Intern

About the role#

Saronic Technologies is seeking an IT Intern to support the tools and systems managed by IT Operations. This role provides hands-on experience in maintaining the infrastructure that supports a defense technology company. You will work directly with senior IT staff on complex projects and gain exposure to enterprise-level hardware, software, and network environments.

What you'll do#

• Provide support for hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues.
• Perform routine system maintenance, including software updates, security patches, and backups.
• Document and track support tickets using a helpdesk management system.
• Collaborate with senior IT staff on complex technical projects, migrations, and system upgrades.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices, including data protection and access control.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Familiarity with helpdesk or ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk) is a plus.
• Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Note: This role requires "U.S. Person" status as defined by U.S. law for access to export-controlled information.

Location & details#

• Location: Austin, Texas (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (August through December).
• Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
• Compensation: Paid internship.
