About the role#
We are hiring an Environmental Intern to support our manufacturing facilities. This is a full-time, paid position that offers a rolling term. You will work on-site in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with the expectation of travel throughout the Wisconsin area and the upper Midwest.
What you'll do#
- Assist plants with the review, revision, and implementation of environmental programs.
- Help ensure compliance with the Risk Management Program and Process Safety Management Program for ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Maintain compliance with programs required by OSHA and our corporate safety and health departments.
- Coordinate supplemental inspections for new processes, equipment, substances, or newly identified hazards.
- Complete plant environmental reports, including data on fuel usage, air emissions, storm water, chemical spills, and waste management programs.
- Verify that corrective measures for identified hazards are finished on time.
- Participate in post-incident analysis and share lessons learned.
- Submit weekly status reports detailing your completed projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or graduate degree program in an environmental field or a related discipline.
- A valid driver's license and a vehicle for travel.
- Working knowledge of computer programs like Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong data collection and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to lead and motivate others.
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
