About the role#
This externship program provides practical experience in a small animal practice for students currently enrolled in a DVM program. You will work alongside our veterinary team to gain hands-on experience and build your clinical skills. We assign every student a mentor to help meet your specific learning objectives and provide a written evaluation upon completion of your rotation. These externships are flexible and typically last between two and eight weeks.
What you'll do#
- Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans for small animal cases.
- Assist in the management of medical cases and provide wellness care.
- Scrub in to surgery and refine your technical skills.
- Produce accurate medical records and SOAPs.
- Practice client communication within the daily flow of the clinic.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited DVM program.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proof of professional liability insurance.
- A professional attitude and adherence to ethical standards.

- Work modality: On-site.

- Compensation: A stipend of $250 per week is provided.
