About the role#
This high school internship provides an opportunity to gain clinical experience at the Vermillion Medical Center. You will work alongside leadership to learn about healthcare operations and contribute to daily patient care.
What you'll do#
- Assist with direct patient care and daily activities within your scope of practice.
- Document care services and handle clerical tasks for your assigned department.
- Follow sanitation standards and keep supplies stocked.
- Complete delegated projects and administrative duties.
- Attend training sessions to learn about organizational processes.
- Work collaboratively with the team to support quality healthcare delivery.
What you'll need#
- You must be part of a pre-approved Sanford clinical internship program for high school students.
- A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- You must obtain and maintain department-specific competencies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is necessary.
- Some knowledge of the healthcare industry is helpful.

- Location: Vermillion, South Dakota.
- Schedule: Part-time, 8 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Starting rate of $12.00 per hour.
