About the role#
As a Student Respiratory Therapist, you will gain hands-on experience by working across our respiratory therapy, sleep center, EKG, EEG, holter monitor, and stress testing departments. You will provide care for adolescent and geriatric patients while learning to identify their specific treatment needs. This position operates under general supervision to help maintain department standards.
What you'll do#
- Perform various cardiopulmonary procedures and sleep studies.
- Follow established hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist with patient care and related duties as assigned.
- Work effectively during emergency situations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university respiratory therapy program.
- A temporary license from the state of Ohio.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile techniques.
- A solid understanding of respiratory department functions.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and make quick decisions.
- Motivation to work with both acute and long term care patients.
