About the role#
As an Alterations Intern at Saks Fifth Avenue, you join the tailoring team to provide high-quality service and technical expertise. You will work on-site in Boca Raton, Florida, supporting our store initiatives and maintaining our standards for luxury garment care.
What you'll do#
- Model our customer service principles to ensure every client has an exceptional experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Perform fittings and make expert decisions on garment alterations.
- Meet individual performance and productivity goals.
- Follow all store policies and workroom procedures.
- Operate and maintain sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment safely.
- Keep the work environment clean and organized.
- Support department initiatives and handle ad hoc tasks as they arise.
What you'll need#
- At least 3 years of experience fitting and tailoring high-end merchandise.
- Proficiency in fitting and altering a wide variety of garments.
- Ability to use standard sewing equipment and specialty machines, including leather, double-blind, buttonhole, and cover-stitch machines.
- Knowledge of luxury fabrication and garment styling.
- Technical skills in areas like leather, knits, beading, and fine tailoring are a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
