About the role#
The Safer Foundation offers a professional learning experience for students seeking career exploration in the non-profit sector. This internship provides hands-on exposure to public service and creative industries, including education, criminal justice, art, digital media, and administration. You will receive mentorship from field experts and build a professional network while gaining practical skills for your future career.
What you'll do#
- Deliver direct instruction in a non-traditional environment and tailor lesson plans to support unique student abilities.
- Assist staff with educational assessments and diagnoses for adult students.
- Help guide enrollee placement and create individual work progress plans.
- Support student recruitment and intake by managing enrollment paperwork and program records.
- Aid in the development of a student training program for digital media and audio technology.
- Support program operations by managing partner relationships and tracking stakeholder feedback.
- Author a detailed internship narrative that highlights technical skills and measures project outcomes.
- Meet weekly with mentors to align on deliverables and improve workflow efficiency.
- Report to multiple site locations as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, including Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate levels, with a need for practical experience.
- Ability to complete a minimum of 240 hours during the internship term.
