The Firmware Engineering intern will work under the direction of firmware development engineers to contribute to the development of features for variable frequency drives (VFDs). This role involves project-oriented tasks that support industrial automation technology.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop firmware.
- Perform product testing and certification activities.
- Execute coding tasks using C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Maintain and develop test setups.
- Maintain firmware metrics.
- Document firmware applications and components.
- Conduct research into new technologies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada. Sponsorship is not provided for this position.
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Proficiency or experience with C/C++ or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Exposure to hardware tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters is preferred.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and Control Systems is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: On-site. Employees are expected to work at the office location at least Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation: $20 - $32 per hour, based on skills, education, and experience.
