The Firmware Engineering intern will work on project-oriented tasks under the direction of firmware development engineers. The focus of this role is the development of firmware used to control variable frequency drives (VFDs).
What you'll do#
- Design and develop firmware for industrial applications.
- Participate in product testing and certification processes.
- Perform coding activities using C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Maintain and develop test setups and track firmware metrics.
- Document firmware applications and components.
- Conduct research into new technologies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada (sponsorship is not available for this role).
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Proficiency or experience with C/C++ or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Exposure to hardware tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters is an asset.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and Control Systems is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site. Employees are expected to work from the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- Compensation: $20 - $32 per hour, based on skills, education, and experience.
- Employment Type: Full-time, rolling term.
