About the role#
As a Backend Software Engineering Intern, you will work directly with experienced engineers to build and scale the services and data systems that power our financial products. You will own a meaningful project from initial scoping through to production. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to a live financial platform while learning how our systems handle scale and correctness.
What you'll do#
- Own a high-impact backend project from initial scoping through launch.
- Partner with a dedicated mentor to guide you through our tech stack and financial domain.
- Design, build, test, and release software solutions for a live financial platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve organizational problems.
- Maintain and scale existing codebases using technologies like Python, Django, Go, and relational databases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time, degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date of Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals and a deep understanding of coding practices.
- Prior software engineering experience through internships, hackathons, or personal projects.
- Familiarity with Python, Django, or Go.
- Understanding of relational databases and transactions.
- Ability to drive projects forward in ambiguous environments.
- Solid communication skills and an interest in building financial technology products.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Locations: Bellevue, WA; Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY.
- Modality: Hybrid, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
