About the role#
This internship focuses on building an integrated analytical workflow that uses cloud infrastructure and machine learning to derive insights from vehicle data. You will help architect an automated, cloud-connected system designed for high-level data preparation and analysis.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement Python-based tools to parse, decode, and extract features from automotive PCAP logs.
- Apply signal-processing techniques to transform vehicle data and analyze corner cases at scale.
- Research, develop, and train machine learning models for prediction, detection, and classification tasks.
- Architect an end-to-end workflow to process raw vehicle logs, perform automated analysis, and prepare data for model training.
- Create dashboards to communicate outcomes and support decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a master's or PhD degree at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in AI practices and feeding LLMs with data and a knowledge base.
- Expertise in Python for data analysis and modeling.
- Deep theoretical and practical understanding of classification algorithms and model evaluation metrics like F1-score, precision, and recall.
- Practical experience with C or C++ for embedded systems development and code review.
- Coursework or project experience with signal-processing techniques such as FFT, Wavelet Transforms, or Control Theory is preferred.
- Familiarity with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) principles is preferred.
