About the role#
Rise Recovery offers practicum and internship placements for students interested in behavioral health and recovery services. These roles support youth, young adults, and families impacted by substance use. Placements are designed to provide hands-on experience in a nonprofit environment while meeting academic or certification requirements.
What you'll do#
Interns work under the guidance of licensed clinicians or certified peer supervisors. Responsibilities vary based on the specific program track and may include:
- Observing and co-facilitating group sessions.
- Participating in intake and assessment processes.
- Assisting with treatment planning and case coordination.
- Completing clinical documentation under supervision.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Providing supervised peer recovery support and facilitating recovery-oriented activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited academic or certification program that requires practicum hours.
- Good academic standing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Commitment to scheduled hours and supervision requirements.
- Successful completion of required screenings, documentation, and training.
