About the role#
Revise Robotics is automating the end-to-end refurbishment of laptops. The process involves a robot arm picking up a used device, opening it, performing a data wipe to NIST standards, diagnosing faults, and preparing the unit for a new owner. You will work directly with the CEO and CTO as part of the core team.
What you'll do#
You will tackle specific parts of our robotics pipeline based on your background. We match projects to your strengths. Recent examples include:
- Solving vision problems under adversarial lighting.
- Designing end-effectors for laptop manipulation.
- Developing autonomous BIOS navigation.
- Performing reward shaping for cable insertion.
What you'll need#
We look for people who have done something genuinely unusual and are good at it. We prefer one deep, specific strength over a well-rounded profile. You should have experience in at least one of these areas:
- Building working robots.
- Reverse-engineering firmware or writing custom HID devices.
- Training vision models on custom datasets.
- Shipping hardware projects that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Deep knowledge of topics like dry ice cleaning, capacitive sensing, industrial machine vision, BIOS internals, low-FPS visual servoing, or battery safety.
We welcome applicants from Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering backgrounds.
Location & details#
- Location: Dumbo, Brooklyn, New York.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Term: Rolling, 10 to 12 weeks.
- Compensation: $8,000 to $12,000 per month.
