About the role#
REGENXBIO is seeking a curious and organized People Intern to join our team in Rockville, Maryland. This part-time position is designed for a college senior or recent graduate who wants to build a career in Human Resources. You will gain hands-on experience across talent acquisition, onboarding, operations, and data analytics. We are looking for someone who can work approximately 20 hours per week and has the potential to transition into a full-time role in early to mid-2027.
What you'll do#
- Support employee lifecycle administration in UKG, including processing new hires and terminations.
- Create and maintain employee files and documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
- Manage contractor onboarding and renewals by coordinating with Legal and Procurement.
- Assist with recruiting tasks such as drafting job ads, scheduling interviews, and maintaining files.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including New Hire Orientation, logistics, and preparing welcome materials.
- Support offboarding processes by preparing notices and coordinating communications.
- Assist with HR systems, reporting, and data quality to improve team efficiency.
- Take ownership of special projects that enhance the employee experience.
What you'll need#
- Current college senior or recent graduate with a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Communications, or Organizational Development.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and levels.
- Comfort working with data and learning new software systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to ask questions.
