About the role#
The Chemical Engineering Intern will join the R&D team to support the development of current and next-generation products. You will work alongside engineers and scientists to gain hands-on experience with chemical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems in a semiconductor environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the research, design, and development of chemical delivery systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Assist with laboratory experiments, prototype development, and performance testing.
- Build test manifolds using pumps, valves, regulators, filters, tubing, fittings, sensors, and other components.
- Help select construction materials suitable for corrosive, hazardous, and high-purity chemicals.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental and test data.
- Create test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Troubleshoot system issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, test records, and project documentation.
- Follow all laboratory, chemical-handling, environmental, health, and safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or completed a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.
- Interest in semiconductor equipment, chemical processes, or vapor delivery technologies.
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and comfort working around lab equipment and chemical systems.
- Coursework or experience in heat transfer, mass transfer, or fluid systems.
- Familiarity with software programming, automation, PLC programming, controls, or data acquisition systems.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to wear required cleanroom garb and work in a Class 1000 or better cleanroom.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
