About the role#
As a Full Stack Engineering Intern at Raft, you will work on both frontend and backend development for mission-critical applications. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to build scalable and secure software systems. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to real-world projects that support government operations.
What you'll do#
- Build user-friendly web pages and interfaces.
- Develop new features and functionalities for in-house applications.
- Use CI/CD pipelines to automate code deployment.
- Conduct research to support software feature design.
- Document and report on your project progress and outcomes.
- Collaborate with team members across different functions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Candidates who graduated in May 2026 are also eligible.
- Backend development proficiency in Python, Java, or Golang.
- Frontend development proficiency with Bootstrap, Ionic, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- A basic understanding of Git for version control.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong preference for students nearing graduation, as well as those with familiarity in Vue, React, NodeJS, Angular, or Kubernetes.
- An interest in Agile methodologies and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve problems within a team.

- This is an on-site internship located in McLean, Virginia.
- The term is for Summer 2027.
