About the role#
Our Summer 2027 Internship Program offers students the chance to work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects. You will contribute to real products, data solutions, and business outcomes. We are looking for individuals interested in software engineering, data engineering, or data science to help improve healthcare access.
What you'll do#
- Plan, design, develop, test, and deploy features and applications.
- Write quality code, troubleshoot issues, and improve existing products.
- Use AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, to support your workflow.
- Build, maintain, and improve data infrastructure.
- Work with large, complex datasets to support data operations.
- Develop and optimize data ingestion pipelines and automate data processes.
- Apply statistics, machine learning, and AI to explore healthcare data.
- Support data exploration, model development, evaluation, and experimentation.
- Communicate analytical findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- Must live in the Kansas City metro area.
- Able to work without visa sponsorship now and in the future.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Juniors and above are preferred, with at least two years of degree experience.
- Prior internship experience in data engineering, analytics, or data science is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate data topics and results clearly.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and effective in a team environment.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools or generative AI through coursework, personal projects, or research.
