About the role#
The Photonics team at QuEra Computing is looking for a Data Management Intern to build an AI-powered infrastructure supporting photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design, fabrication, and testing. You will create tools that turn raw measurement and metrology data into actionable insights, directly impacting the development of photonic chips for large-scale neutral-atom quantum computers.
What you'll do#
- Develop an AI-powered data management infrastructure for PIC design, fabrication, and testing workflows.
- Write Python functions and utilities to automate data ingestion, cleaning, and organization across multiple sources.
- Build analysis pipelines to extract key device performance metrics such as insertion loss, extinction ratio, bandwidth, and yield.
- Analyze fabrication metrology datasets from multiple foundries to correlate findings with device performance and identify process-performance relationships.
- Document data infrastructure and analysis workflows for long-term team use.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using AI and data science libraries, including PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
- Working knowledge of data storage formats, database design principles, and data analysis and visualization frameworks.
- A proven track record of using Python and AI tools to solve complex problems in science and physics.
- A strong analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
