About the role#
This is a paid, on-site internship based in North Carolina. You will support employees with their desktop and laptop hardware and software needs. The role requires a 12-month commitment prior to your graduation date, which must be December 2027 or later. You will work approximately 20 hours per week, with a minimum of 15 hours required.
What you'll do#
- Provide technology support for helpdesk requests and document each interaction in the tracking system.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and resolve help requests, escalating issues when necessary.
- Install, configure, diagnose, repair, and upgrade computer hardware and software to ensure workstation performance.
- Coordinate warranty repairs with third-party vendors and maintain accurate records of these requests.
- Perform on-site analysis to resolve desktop problems for end-users and implement corrective solutions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a technology degree program, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Data Science, at a 2 or 4-year institution.
- Strong computer troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, even during frequent interruptions or urgent situations.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, phone, and writing skills for customer support.
- Ability to learn new programs and systems quickly.
- Knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Experience with computer hardware, software, and networking is preferred.
