About the role#
This internship at Pyxus International, Inc. provides hands-on experience in technology support and hardware maintenance. The role involves managing helpdesk requests, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, and ensuring optimal workstation performance for end-users. This is a paid, on-site position requiring 15 to 20 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Provide technology support for helpdesk requests by evaluating, prioritizing, and resolving issues.
- Document all end-user information and the nature of problems within the tracking system, including the steps taken toward resolution.
- Install, configure, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade hardware and related software.
- Coordinate computer warranty issues with third-party vendors and maintain accurate records of repairs.
- Perform on-site analysis and resolution of desktop problems, recommending and implementing corrective solutions.
- Communicate with end-users regarding the status of their requests and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a technology degree program (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Data Science) at a 2 or 4-year institution.
- Earliest graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Ability to commit to at least 12 months of availability prior to graduation.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, phone, writing, and customer support skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- Preferred: Experience with Windows 11, Microsoft Office Suite, and general computer hardware, software, and networking.
