About the role#
Pyxus International, Inc. is seeking an Intern to provide technology support for employee desktops, laptops, hardware, and software. This role involves managing helpdesk requests, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring end-user issues are resolved effectively. This is a paid, on-site position located in North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Provide technology support for helpdesk requests and document all pertinent end-user information and the nature of the problem via the problem tracking system.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and resolve help requests, escalating issues when necessary and communicating status updates to end-users.
- Install, configure, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade hardware and related software to ensure optimal workstation performance.
- Coordinate computer warranty issues with third-party vendors and maintain accurate records of repair requests.
- Perform on-site analysis and resolution of desktop problems, including implementing corrective solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technology degree program (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Data Science) at a 2 or 4 year institution.
- Earliest graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Ability to commit to at least 12 months of availability prior to graduation.
- Exceptional time management, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, even during frequent interruptions or urgent situations.
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience includes knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft Office Suite, and general computer hardware, software, and networking.

- Commitment: 20 hours per week (15 hours per week minimum required).
