About the role#
Pure Power Engineering is hiring an engineering student for a summer internship focused on commercial and utility scale solar PV systems. This role runs from early June 2027 through the end of August 2027. You will support our engineering team by creating electrical and structural drawings, calculation packages, and feasibility studies.
What you'll do#
- Design and engineer commercial PV solar systems ranging from 100kW to 20MW.
- Integrate energy storage systems into solar PV designs.
- Create construction documents and technical specifications using AutoCAD.
- Prepare utility interconnection and building permit applications.
- Perform site-specific production analysis for PV arrays using tools like PVsyst.
- Collect data and travel to project sites when necessary to gather site-specific information.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience working with AutoCAD.
- A previous internship in traditional building design with an MEP firm.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Hoboken, New Jersey.
- The position follows a hybrid schedule with time spent in the office and remotely.
- We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
