About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering Co-Op position based in Richmond, British Columbia. You will work on-site, collaborating with our engineering team on product development and design tasks. This role offers exposure to the full engineering lifecycle, allowing you to manage specific scopes of work while receiving guidance from Senior Engineers.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with design engineers on product development projects.
- Create 3D CAD models using SolidWorks.
- Prepare final working drawings and update the parts database.
- Bring existing files up to new standards.
- Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and manual addendums.
- Support BOM updates, validation, and data accuracy.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and other stakeholders to implement projects.
- Assist in finding solutions to engineering challenges.
- Manage a detailed scope of work with varied levels of responsibility.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Experience with SolidWorks is a strong asset.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and multi-task.
- A detail-oriented and inquisitive approach to engineering challenges.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Professional conduct and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks based on deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
