About the role#
Profluent is looking for a Computational Research Intern to join our bioinformatics team. You will work on projects at the intersection of machine learning and biology. This role offers the chance to tackle scientific and engineering challenges with the potential for publication in journals and conferences.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement computational methods for research in bioinformatics and machine learning.
- Analyze large-scale genomic and protein datasets to find new biological insights.
- Work with scientists and engineers across our machine learning, protein engineering, and biology teams.
- Document and present your research findings to the internal team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Familiarity with scientific computing libraries like NumPy, pandas, and Jupyter.
- Experience in machine learning, large-scale data analysis, genomics, or protein bioinformatics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and with a team.
Location & details#
- The role is based in Emeryville, California.
- This is a hybrid position requiring 2 to 3 days on-site per week.
- The internship is full-time and paid.
- The typical duration is 12 weeks with flexible start dates.
