About the role#
As a Deep Learning Research Intern, you will work with our engineering team to design and develop large-scale foundation models for self-driving vehicles. You will turn open-ended real-world challenges into well-defined machine learning problems and apply them to our autonomous driving systems.
What you'll do#
- Design and deploy deep learning models, including vision language models and Large Language Models.
- Create multi-modality and multi-task perception models for 3D object detection, tracking, segmentation, and scene understanding.
- Scale models to data pipelines and optimize them to run in real-time under tight constraints.
- Apply machine learning approaches to behavior prediction, imitation learning, and motion planning.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong background in deep learning, including model design, training, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ software development.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and data pipeline management.
- Familiarity with deep learning research tools and frameworks.
- Preferred experience includes publications at conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, or AAAI.
- Experience with GPU, CUDA, TensorRT, convex optimization, or computational geometry is a plus.
- Previous internships involving large-scale deep learning systems are beneficial.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Fremont, California.
- The position is full-time and follows a rolling start schedule.
- Interns are expected to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
