About the role#
The Innovation Intern will work with the Innovation and Research teams at PlayCore to develop designs and concepts that promote radical inclusiveness in childhood play environments. This role supports the Center for Outreach, Research & Education (CORE) in translating research into practical applications for parks, playgrounds, and outdoor recreation.
What you'll do#
- Develop and evaluate 3D printed tactile maps to improve user experience and commercial viability.
- Research and create new design concepts to ensure equitable access to play.
- Identify, synthesize, and translate existing research regarding inclusion in recreational spaces.
- Support new research studies, including study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
- Collaborate with other interns and team members on project progress.
- Present completed work at Auburn University at the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in an accredited undergraduate program.
- Major in Industrial Design, Business, or a related field.
- Ability to commit to 30 hours of work per week.
