About the role#
The Cybersecurity Intern joins the IT Infrastructure team to support daily cybersecurity operations, compliance, and security awareness initiatives. This position provides hands-on experience in protecting enterprise systems, data, and technology assets while helping to mature the company's cybersecurity program.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and review security alerts, system logs, and security-related reports.
- Support vulnerability management, including scan reviews, remediation tracking, and documentation.
- Assist with identity and access management, such as user access validation and account cleanup.
- Maintain cybersecurity documentation, including procedures, standards, and security control evidence.
- Assist with security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations and employee communications.
- Support incident response documentation, evidence collection, and post-incident activities.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
- Support compliance efforts related to internal policies and security frameworks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity.
- Previous coursework, labs, or internships related to cybersecurity, networking, or IT support.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, and Microsoft technologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business productivity tools.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as CIS Controls or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Ability to work under limited supervision to complete assigned tasks.
