Cybersecurity Intern

About the role#

The Cybersecurity Intern joins the IT Infrastructure team to support daily cybersecurity operations, compliance, and security awareness initiatives. This position provides hands-on experience in protecting enterprise systems, data, and technology assets while helping to mature the company's cybersecurity program.

What you'll do#

• Monitor and review security alerts, system logs, and security-related reports.
• Support vulnerability management, including scan reviews, remediation tracking, and documentation.
• Assist with identity and access management, such as user access validation and account cleanup.
• Maintain cybersecurity documentation, including procedures, standards, and security control evidence.
• Assist with security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations and employee communications.
• Support incident response documentation, evidence collection, and post-incident activities.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
• Support compliance efforts related to internal policies and security frameworks.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity.
• Previous coursework, labs, or internships related to cybersecurity, networking, or IT support.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, and Microsoft technologies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business productivity tools.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as CIS Controls or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Ability to work under limited supervision to complete assigned tasks.
