About the role#
Plano-Coudon offers summer interns a chance to apply classroom knowledge to an active construction site. You will work alongside project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to gain insight into general contracting and construction methods. This position is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist the project management team with planning and daily execution.
- Review project documents, track permits, and help develop scopes.
- Prepare and review estimates, schedules, and budgets.
- Draft project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change orders.
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and subcontractors.
- Accompany the Superintendent on site walks and manage action items.
- Monitor quality control, punch lists, and safety initiatives.
- Assist with daily logs and safety audits to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Learn construction means and methods by observing field teams.
- Use project management software like Procore.
- Attend company learning sessions, site tours, and team-building events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Architecture.
- A strong interest in a career in construction management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and a desire to learn.
- A sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Previous experience in construction or skilled trades is preferred.
