Operational Accounting Intern

About the role#

The Operational Accounting Intern will join the team for an 8-month, full-time work term beginning in Fall 2026. This role provides exposure to the settlement of crude oil movements via pipeline, rail, and truck within the Canadian energy sector. Interns will contribute to key initiatives supporting the invoicing and settlement of transactions in the Canadian crude business.

What you'll do#

• Prepare, verify, and process crude invoices and purchase statements while resolving discrepancies.
• Manage high-volume commercial payable invoices and coordinate with accounting to ensure payment.
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal commercial teams regarding invoice disputes and backup information.
• Monitor dispute resolution logs and manage updates to vendor or customer accounts.
• Maintain email accounts, customer files, and department processes.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process efficiencies and improvements.
• Handle general administrative duties and ad-hoc assignments as requested.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a full-time post-secondary program, working toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Ability to commit to an 8-month, full-time work term.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Previous entry-level work experience in customer service or a relevant internship.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

• Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
• Work Modality: On-site at the Calgary downtown office.
• Term: 8-month internship starting in Fall 2026.
