Plains All American is seeking a Government & Regulatory Affairs (GRA) Intern to join the team for an 8-month, full-time work term. This position provides exposure to government relations, regulatory monitoring, corporate communications, and community investment within the Canadian energy sector. The intern will work from the Calgary office, contributing to initiatives that support stakeholder engagement and regulatory awareness.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and analyze federal and provincial regulatory and policy developments.
- Review incoming legislation and track issues impacting Plains Canada operations.
- Draft comment letters regarding proposed legislation in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Assist in the preparation of briefing notes, stakeholder materials, and executive summaries.
- Conduct research on emerging policy and industry trends.
- Support internal reporting, event coordination, and communication materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Political Science, Public Health, Communications, or Business Administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated analytical and research abilities.
- A genuine interest in policy, the energy industry, government relations, or regulatory affairs.
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to commit to an 8-month, full-time work term beginning August 31, 2026.
