We are looking for a builder to join our core Hardware Engineering team. You will work on the robotic arms, mobile platforms, and end-effectors that support our data collection and model training operations. This role requires someone who thinks in systems and enjoys the integration between mechanical, electrical, and embedded design.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and test key subsystems for robotic arms and mobile platforms, including actuation, sensing, and power systems.
- Work hands-on in our hardware lab to perform assembly, calibration, and reliability testing.
- Integrate inputs from mechanical, electrical, and software teams to resolve mission-critical issues.
- Analyze data from robot deployments to drive design iterations and reliability improvements.
- Own the full stack of a subsystem, ranging from CAD and PCB design to bench testing.
What you'll need#
- Completed 3A Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering. We will consider students below 3A who have exceptional portfolios or project experience.
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical and electromechanical design, including dynamic loading, FEA, and DFM.
- Familiarity with embedded and mechatronic systems like CAN, BLDC control, and motor controllers.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as NX, OnShape, or SolidWorks.
- Experience with rapid prototyping tools including SLA and FDM 3D printing and laser cutting.
- Basic electrical design and debugging skills, including schematics, soldering, and use of test equipment.
- Experience with data-driven debugging using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments or prior experience in robotics and hardware startups is a plus.
Location & details#
