About the role#
The Manufacturing Co-Op program is designed for high school juniors and seniors to gain entry-level production experience. This role involves performing assembly tasks, electrical testing, and packaging in a variety of settings, including team-based environments, small batch production, and flow lines. This position provides hands-on experience with the potential for future apprenticeship opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Perform final assembly, electrical testing, and packaging of various assemblies.
- Operate hand tools and other production equipment.
- Record assembly time data and complete routing, quality inspections, and related documentation.
- Assist in other production areas as needed.
- Follow all company procedures, ISO specifications, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Cross-train in multiple assembly functions and work centers to meet production needs.
- Perform physical tasks including sitting or standing for at least 4 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using equipment such as pallet jacks and portable staircases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a high school junior or senior.
- Minimum age of 16 by the start of the term.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend English production documents and wiring schematics.
- Basic computer skills.
- A positive attitude and a desire to learn in a production environment.
- Ability to maintain regular, on-time attendance.
