About the role#
The Manufacturing Co-Op program provides high school students with hands-on experience in a production environment. This role involves working within teams, small batch production, or flow lines to gain entry-level skills. Participants may have the opportunity to pursue future apprenticeship paths.
What you'll do#
- Perform final assembly, electrical testing, and packaging of various assemblies.
- Operate hand tools and other production equipment.
- Record assembly time data and complete routing, quality inspections, and related documentation.
- Screen and separate parts as required.
- Assist in other production areas to meet changing requirements.
- Follow all PPE requirements, ISO specifications, and company procedures.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, using a pallet jack, and climbing portable staircases to reach 12-foot heights.
What you'll need#
- Must be a high school junior or senior.
- Must be at least 16 years of age by the start of the term.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend English written production documents and wiring schematics.
- Willingness to be cross-trained and move between work centers.
- Ability to sit or stand for at least 4 hours at a time.
