About the role#
The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State is hiring a Co-Op to work within the Navigation Research and Development Division in Warminster, Pennsylvania. You will join a team of experienced engineers to support research, development, and systems engineering projects. This role involves working in a secure environment and requires a six-month commitment.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and development for navigation algorithms.
- Support projects focused on state estimation, robotics, and autonomous systems.
- Develop models and simulations for sea vessels and geophysical systems.
- Build technical skills in MATLAB, C#, C++, and Python.
- Work within a Linux environment to perform filter design and implement control algorithms.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- An interest in modeling dynamic systems, optimal filtering, state estimation, and control systems.
- Ability to work on-site at the Warminster facility for six months.
- Citizenship as a U.S. citizen to meet security requirements.
