About the role#
The Co-Occurring IOP/OP Program Intern supports the daily operations of our programs by assisting staff and engaging directly with members. You will gain hands-on experience in a behavioral health setting, focusing on substance use and co-occurring disorders. This role involves developing practical skills in clinical documentation, group facilitation, and direct member support.
What you'll do#
- Assist members with intake and enrollment paperwork.
- Conduct initial assessments under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Co-facilitate or lead therapy groups and provide individual support sessions.
- Participate in treatment planning and track member progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record.
- Coordinate recovery-focused community outings and help members with transportation needs.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to a strengths-based environment.
- Maintain confidentiality in line with agency policy and federal regulations.
- Help gather member feedback and stories for program engagement.
- Foster an inclusive environment and build your own cultural competency.
