    About the role#

    The Co-Occurring IOP/OP Program Intern supports the daily operations of our programs by assisting staff and engaging directly with members. You will gain hands-on experience in a behavioral health setting, focusing on substance use and co-occurring disorders. This role involves developing practical skills in clinical documentation, group facilitation, and direct member support.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist members with intake and enrollment paperwork.
    • Conduct initial assessments under the guidance of a supervisor.
    • Co-facilitate or lead therapy groups and provide individual support sessions.
    • Participate in treatment planning and track member progress.
    • Maintain accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record.
    • Coordinate recovery-focused community outings and help members with transportation needs.
    • Attend team meetings and contribute to a strengths-based environment.
    • Maintain confidentiality in line with agency policy and federal regulations.
    • Help gather member feedback and stories for program engagement.
    • Foster an inclusive environment and build your own cultural competency.

    What you'll need#

    • An interest in behavioral health, social work, or substance use treatment.
    • Strong communication skills and a habit of self-reflection.
    • Ability to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines.
    • Comfort using computers and digital tools.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • A commitment to ethical conduct and professional growth.
