About the role#
The Strength and Conditioning Intern supports local high school athletic programs by assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Interns gain experience working with a variety of sports and help prepare junior high athletes for high school training environments. This role may require travel between multiple schools based on operational needs, and the intern schedule will mirror that of the assigned coach.
What you'll do#
- Assist with performance testing, program design, and implementation for local high school athletes.
- Provide feedback on exercise technique and safety, pending approval from the head coach.
- Support athletic development across different school settings as required.
What you'll need#
- Must be in the final year of or have graduated from an undergraduate degree program in Kinesiology, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, Public Health, Psychology, or a related science or exercise field.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- A desire to pursue a career in exercise science or a related field.
- Progress toward or interest in obtaining a strength and conditioning certification such as NSCA-CSCS, NASM-PES, or ACSM.
