About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in high school strength and conditioning. You will report directly to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at your assigned school, gaining exposure to a wide variety of sports and helping prepare junior high athletes for high school training environments. Interns may be asked to support multiple schools based on organizational needs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with performance testing, program design, and implementation for local high schools.
- Provide feedback to athletes regarding technique and safety, pending approval from the head coach.
- Follow the schedule of your assigned coach, with hours varying based on program requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the final year of an undergraduate degree or a recent graduate in a science or exercise-related field, such as Kinesiology, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, Public Health, or Psychology.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- A desire to pursue a career in exercise science or the intent to earn a strength and conditioning certification, such as NSCA-CSCS, NASM-PES, or ACSM.
