About the role#
The Student Enrollment Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for families navigating the New Orleans public school enrollment system. This role involves managing direct enrollment services for Early Childhood and K-12 students, including admissions, readmissions, and waitlist management. Coordinators work across various Family Resource Center locations to provide objective guidance to families and ensure that enrollment processes are accessible and efficient.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate enrollment placements for students and families across the city.
- Provide families with objective, informed information regarding Early Childhood enrollment options and eligibility requirements.
- Manage mid-year and pre-year school placements for families relocating to New Orleans.
- Maintain accurate student data using Salesforce and Avela enrollment platforms in compliance with privacy laws.
- Ensure Family Resource Centers remain welcoming, organized, and professional environments for visitors.
- Assist with auxiliary student services, such as issuing work permits and participating in community outreach events, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Interpret and explain district guidelines regarding parent rights, student populations, and enrollment procedures.
What you'll need#
- A minimum of 48 college credited hours.
- At least 3 years of experience in customer service.
- A valid Louisiana Driver’s license without restrictions.
- Knowledge of services available within the local community.
- Strong communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is preferred.
- Ability to travel between various Family Resource Center locations.
- Academic background in Psychology, Business Administration, Communications, or Human Resources is relevant to the role.
