The Student Enrollment Assistant supports families navigating the unified enrollment system for public and non-public schools in New Orleans. This role focuses on early childhood eligibility verification, waitlist management, and providing administrative support to the Enrollment & Family Services team. This position requires occasional work during evenings and weekends to support community enrollment events.
What you'll do#
- Provide objective information to families regarding citywide school choice and support the application process.
- Deliver customer service by managing incoming calls, emails, and virtual appointments for families.
- Determine applicant eligibility for publicly funded early childhood seats by verifying income, residency, and legal documentation.
- Maintain accurate student data in Salesforce in compliance with district standards and privacy laws.
- Implement district guidelines regarding enrollment procedures and parent rights, including support for students with special needs and limited English proficiency.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director of Family Services and Student Enrollment Coordinators.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma.
- Two years of customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak, translate, and interpret English and a designated second or third language.
- Knowledge of the cultural background of non-English speaking communities.
- A valid Louisiana Driver’s license with no restrictions that preclude driving on the job.
