About the role#
Origami Rehabilitation offers a clinical internship for students pursuing careers in healthcare. This role involves working under the direction of a clinical instructor to provide rehabilitation services to children and adults with neurological, developmental, mental health, and orthopedic conditions. Interns gain hands-on experience in both residential and outpatient settings.
What you'll do#
- Develop and administer treatment plans based on physician referrals and assessments.
- Evaluate client progress and document findings, including daily progress and discharge notes.
- Communicate client progress to physicians, team members, and external stakeholders.
- Model professional behavior to support a positive therapeutic environment.
- Attend clinical reviews, family conferences, staff meetings, and training sessions.
- Assist with scheduling client visits and administrative tasks such as billing and data collection.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and state regulations regarding rehabilitation services.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of an academic program in Psychology, Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences.
- Knowledge of State of Michigan regulations regarding treatment and rehabilitation services.
- Ability to follow ethical guidelines specific to your discipline.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clinical teams and stakeholders.
- Experience or academic training in developing and implementing treatment plans.
