About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Plastic Injection Department. You will support efforts to improve manufacturing efficiency and process quality through data analysis and direct engineering support. This is a full-time, paid position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the installation, startup, and validation of new injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Collect and analyze production data to support continuous improvement projects focused on cycle time, scrap reduction, and process stability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, and production teams to ensure equipment integration and process readiness.
- Coordinate machine commissioning activities and track project milestones.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including process sheets, standard operating procedures, and machine specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering. Junior or Senior standing is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a clear interest in industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with operators, technicians, and managers.
- Willingness to spend significant time on the production floor.
