About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Summer 2026 internship based on-site in Normal, Illinois. The role focuses on supporting quality improvement activities within the motor vehicle manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Prepare quality training materials, including a paint defect catalog for each plant.
- Support the preparation of data for GP12, end-of-line (EOL) processes, pre-inspection, Pareto analysis, and trend tracking for new launches.
- Participate in A3 problem-solving teams to focus on improving Right First Time (RFT) metrics and scrap reduction.
- Collaborate with the quality plant team on the deployment of quality basics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Competency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Power BI.
- Knowledge of the basics of Lean Manufacturing.
