About the role#
This summer internship offers hands-on experience in semiconductor technology development. You will work with engineering teams in San Jose to characterize devices across image sensor, ASIC, high-voltage, analog mixed-signal, and low-voltage integrated circuit technologies. This role focuses on combining wafer-level characterization, test automation, and data-driven analysis.
What you'll do#
- Perform wafer-level measurements on test structures using semiconductor parameter analyzers, capacitance meters, and source measurement units.
- Conduct flicker noise measurements using specialized noise characterization instruments.
- Test electrostatic discharge (ESD) devices using transmission line pulse (TLP) testers.
- Generate test reports and summaries.
- Automate test report generation, summary creation, and recurring characterization data workflows.
- Participate in AI-related initiatives to improve device characterization workflows, data analysis, or test automation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or Systems Engineering in the US.
- Understanding of semiconductor device physics and circuit operation.
- Experience using lab equipment such as IV meters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes.
- Proficiency in Python, Visual Basic, C, or LabVIEW.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with semiconductor characterization equipment, such as parametric analyzers and capacitance meters, is preferred.
- Familiarity with programming test instruments via GPIB.
- Experience with machine learning, AI, and developer-assistance tools like GitHub Copilot or other AI frameworks.
