About the role#
Oklo Inc is seeking interns for Summer 2027 to work across various engineering and business disciplines. This program offers the chance to contribute to projects in electric power generation. You will work 30-40 hours per week while gaining hands-on experience in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Core Thermal Hydraulics: Develop subchannel and CFD models for sodium fast reactors.
- Fuel Performance: Assess trade-offs between computational cost and accuracy of fuel performance models while benchmarking new tools.
- Mechanical Analyst: Apply first-principles mechanics to structural component analysis and support design iterations.
- Instrumentation & Controls: Assist in developing and testing sensors, instrumentation, and actuators.
- Neutronics: Update and optimize neutronic methodologies to ensure alignment with code base models.
- Process: Assist in designing fluid and process systems and support equipment specifications.
- Prototyping: Perform machining and fabrication of prototypes, including the assembly and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.
- Business Operations: Collect, organize, and analyze operational and financial data while preparing reports and dashboards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation (2027) from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
- Relevant majors include Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or Operations Management.
- Proficiency in Python is required for most technical roles, with additional needs for MATLAB or FEA tools like Ansys or COMSOL depending on the department.
- Strong technical communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site at one of our office locations.
