About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program based in Stamford, Connecticut. You will rotate through multiple underwriting divisions to learn the basics of reinsurance. The program provides a view into the daily responsibilities of an underwriter and the nuances of different markets. You will work on assigned projects and present your experience to senior management at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through underwriting divisions including Property Treaty, Casualty Treaty, Casualty Facultative, and Accident and Health.
- Learn the day-to-day work of an underwriter.
- Underwrite new and renewal business.
- Complete assigned projects throughout the program.
- Present your overall experience to senior management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior in an undergraduate program.
- A GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think analytically with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership in college or community activities.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 position.
- The role is hybrid, requiring 4 days in-office and 1 day remote each week.
- You will be based in our Stamford, Connecticut office.
- Expect occasional travel to New York City, approximately 20% of the time.
- We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
