About the role#
We are looking for an Applied Science Intern to join the Valka.ai team. This role focuses on the development and application of World Models to simulate and generate sport and eSport matches. You will work on technical challenges related to video generation and synthetic data.
What you'll do#
- Explore the use of World Models for understanding, simulating, and generating sport or eSport matches like soccer or DOTA.
- Design, develop, and optimize AI video generation models, focusing on autoregressive architectures.
- Implement algorithms to synthesize sport matches.
- Work with large-scale video-action datasets by designing and implementing data-cleaning and pre-processing pipelines.
- Create validation strategies and custom evaluation metrics to compare synthetic and real gameplay.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a PhD, preferably in the San Francisco area.
- Publications at top Computer Vision, AI, or Graphics venues such as CVPR, ICML, ICCV, Siggraph, or NeurIPS.
- Hands-on experience building and running generative CV models like GANs, DiT, or VAEs.
- Knowledge of neural architectures including Transformers, Denoising Diffusion Models, RNNs, Sequence Models, and CNNs.
- Understanding of VAEs and basic Reinforcement Learning.
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
